A Medical Nonprofit Organization For the People
Are you a medical researcher or medical device creator looking to make a difference in the world? If so, you should consider partnering with Capillary Foundation to fund your research project or device. Capillary Foundation is a medical nonprofit organization looking for passionate, talented people who strive to improve the quality of patient care through their work.
We offer grants to talented individuals so they can pursue their research and innovation without worrying about the cost burden. This way, they have more time to focus on pursuing their potentially life-saving work.

What Makes Capillary Foundation Different
We might be a small medical nonprofit organization, but we have a big mission. At Capillary Foundation, we are motivated by our desire to change the current medical grant funding system, which is broken in many ways.
Traditional funding avenues face high competition, bias from the fund contributors, and strict stipulations on how the money can be used. As a result, many researchers and innovators either do not get the funding they need to bring their ideas to life or are forced to use the funds differently than they had intended.
So, what makes Capillary Foundation different? We are unique from other healthcare foundations that provide research funding because we do not discriminate. Anyone is welcome to apply for a grant from us, regardless of what field their medical research is in. This makes us more approachable and accessible compared to traditional funding organizations.
The current medical funding system needs to change. At Capillary Foundation, we believe all ideas deserve a fair chance. Otherwise, patients battling chronic injuries and diseases may miss out on new treatments and technologies that could revolutionize their quality of life.
How We Help Medical Research Innovators
It is notoriously difficult to get funding for medical research. From 2004 to 2012, the growth rate for research funding in the United States decreased to 0.8 percent per year. This lack of funding is a massive barrier to entry for researchers. Many ideas may take years before coming to fruition, or researchers are dissuaded from pursuing them in the first place. Our medical nonprofit organization is here to help these researchers through our grants.
Our research grant program is designed for professional researchers, whether individuals or companies, who struggle to find funding for their idea. The project can be new or ongoing, and we do not discriminate based on education level or previous funding obtained, which can often be the case with other healthcare foundations.
Our grants also give researchers the freedom to pursue their research and design their own experiments without being beholden to investor interests.
How We Help Medical Device Innovators
Medical device funding has been steadily declining over the past ten years. In 2010, 11 percent of venture capital funds went towards medical device companies. By 2016, that amount was down to just five percent, a 50% decrease. Our medical device grants seek to provide the necessary funding to device innovators.
Any devices are eligible for consideration as long as they can be shown to have a demonstrable impact on improving patient care.
Grants for medical devices are available to any medical device innovator or company, whether their device only exists on paper or there is already a working prototype being tested.
Just like our research grants, our medical device funding is open to inventors in any field, as long as their goal is to give patients a higher standard of care and better quality of life.
